Italia, Roma (1924 - 1969) Invited to participate in the international missionary exhibition in Rome during the 1925 Holy Year, some M.I.C. put up a booth demonstrating the works of the Institute. Shortly afterwards, they organized a pied-à-terre in Monte Mario in order to make connections with the Vatican easier. A small school was opened in this modest milieu. Upon the request of Pius XII, our Sisters sheltered Jewish, Italian and Japanese families who were in trouble during the Second World War. In 1947, they moved closer to the Vatican, on Via Giacinto Carini. For twelve years, they ran a kindergarten which eventually became a residence for religious students. The M.I.C. left Rome in 1969. |
