A PROMISING FUTURE

by Marie-Paule Sanfaçon, m.i.c.

There is a blazing fire burning at the heart of the MIC Community and it has been spreading on all the continents for over a century. Délia Tétreault, our Foundress, had dreamt of revealing God's marvellous deeds to the whole world… Today, her daughters from 18 nationalities pursue her dream in 15 countries.

Above and beyond their cultural differences, what could so deeply unite all these women? What allows them to work hand-inhand to proclaim and witness the Good News?

Mission with all its dynamic components gathers them and leads them on. We live in local communities made up of women from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. However, the same inner call, the same ideal unites us. We all work for the same Mission: following Jesus, visibly showing the Love of the Father for all human beings. It is the same spirituality of Thanksgiving that animates and vitalizes us.

The local community members acknowledge, accept and live their differences; this reality becomes a manifestation of God's Kingdom in our midst, it is a visible sign saying: universal brother / sisterhood is possible. As we live-on, future promises take root. The Lord never ceases to call young people and they respond with enthusiasm and generosity. A promising and dynamic future is in the MIC horizon.
